When Will Indians be able to Bet on Cricket Again?

There is no doubt that Indians are missing their usual abundance of cricket to watch at this time. After all, cricket is a national sport in the country and people love to play, watch or bet on it.

So, when will betting on cricket become a reality again for people in India? Betting operators like 10cric have suggested that they will allow it as soon as it opens again. So, as soon as cricket returns to India, people will be able to bet on it.

When will cricket return in India?

There is no firm information yet as to when cricket will resume in India. It’s likely to be at least a couple of months and probably longer. So, betting on Indian cricket is not possible right now. However, that is not the whole story. Cricket is starting up again in other parts of the world.

For instance, the Sri Lankan national team is back in training, with special safety protocols in place. The England team are also training in groups at various locations across the country. They are preparing for their first international games for a while, against the West Indies. The planned three-test series between the two countries is scheduled to take place from July 8. It is awaiting approval from the UK government.

In Australia, domestic cricket has made a return. This is just the beginning of the return of the sport in a country where cricket is as popular as it is in India.

Of course, the return of cricket is likely to look very different from what the fans are used to. For a start, there will be no fans in the stands, due to current restrictions. However, it’s a good start to getting things back to normal in the cricketing world. It also means that Indians can at least start betting on a sport that they love.

Betting on other sports

It’s also possible for Indians to bet on other sports. For instance, football is more advanced in its comeback than cricket. The Bundesliga returned to action in May. La Liga is also back to entertain, as is the English Premier League.

As with cricket, football has returned behind closed doors. This means that fans are not able to attend the games. However, many of them are being shown live on TV. Online betting sites are also enabling fans to get involved with the action by placing bets.

In summary

It could be a while yet before cricket returns in India. This means that Indians cannot currently bet on domestic cricket or on the national team. However, it is possible for cricket fans in the country to bet on Australian cricket and cricket in other parts of the world is expected to begin again soon. Anyone who wants to bet on sports in India can also try placing a bet on other sports that have already returned in many countries, such as football. These are good alternatives until cricket is back in India.
