The Sky is Pink is a 2019 Hindi film starring Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar in the lead roles. The movie is directed by Shonali Bose who got into limelight with her previous 2015 release Margarita with a Straw.
The Sky is Pink also has Zaira Wasim in the lead role of Aisha Chaudhary. The movie is a biopic of Aisha who was diagnosed with Pulmonary fibrosis at a very early age. The Sky is Pink premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on 13 September 2019 and was greatly appreciated for the lead actors’ performances.

Priyanka Chopra has been away from Bollywood and India for a while now. She was last seen in Jai Gangajal. After that, she has been busy doing Hollywood projects like Quantico(TV Series), Baywatch, A kid like Jake and Isn’t It Romantic. The actress is back to Bollywood with the Sky is Pink which is the best career choice that she has made.
Coming to the story of the film, Aditi Chaudhary(Priyanka Chopra) and Niren Chaudhary(Farhan Akthar) fall in love and get married. They have two children Aisha(Zaira Wasim) and Ishaan(Rohit Suresh Saraf).
Aisha gets diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis and suffers a lot at a very young age. As she becomes a teenager, she realizes that her life has a purpose and she cannot let the suffering consume her. What did she do to overcome this and what lead her to become a motivational speaker forms the rest of the story.
Coming to the crew of the film, it is produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Sidharth Roy Kapur, Kilian Kerwin, Priyanka Chopra and Madhu Chopra under the production banners RSVP Movies, Roy Kapur Films, Purple Pebble Pictures, and Ivanhoe Pictures respectively.
The music of the film is composed by Pritam and the background score is done by Mikey McCleary. The Cinematography of the film is done by Kartik Vijay and Nick Cooke while the editing is done by Manas Mittal.
The Sky Is Pink Movie Review
The Sky Is Pink is one of the best soulful emotional dramas produced by Bollywood. Telling us a tale of a family in which a young girl gets diagnosed with Pulmonary fibrosis and how they go through it, director Shonali Bose has done a great job in staying true to the story and emotions.
Both Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akthar have given one of their career-best performances. You will only see the characters they are playing not the actors they are. They carry the whole movie on their shoulders along with Zaira Wasim.
