Thappad is an upcoming Bollywood film that stars Tapsee Pannu, Pavail Gulati, Ratna Pathak Shah, Dia Mirza in the lead roles. The film was directed by Anubhav Sinha. The film is scheduled to release theatrically on 28th February 2020. It was initially proposed to get released on 6th March 2020 but it got preponed by a week earlier.
The film got produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anubhav Sinha under Benaras Media Works, and T-Series banners. Anurag Saikia has composed songs for the film, Mangesh Dhakde has composed the background score for the film. Soumik Mukherjee is the cinematographer and the film got edited by Yasha Ramchandani.
The film is about a woman Amrita who files for divorce when her husband slaps her. Actress Tapsee is collaborating with the director Anubhav Sinha for the second time after the film Mulk which was released in 2018.
The makers of the film released the trailer of the film on 31st January 2020. The trailer got an immense response with around 18 Million Digital views and 625 thousand likes on Youtube. Later, the second trailer was released on 11th February 2020.
The trailer showcases the happy couple amrita and her husband living their simple lives. Things get worse when amrita gets slapped from her husband. The trailer then shows how amrita is going to handle the situation. Whether she files divorce or not is what the makers left us to watch.
The filmmaker Anubhav Sinha is again coming with Thappad after the film Article 15 which got released on 28th June 2019. The film Article 15 got a critically good response and it turned out to be a super hit film.
On the other hand, Tapsee is working after the film Saand Ki Aankh which released on 25th October 2019 was also a blockbuster. Now, many are waiting for this film as the hit combination is back and worked together. We hope the film gets received well from the audience and the film does well at the box-office.
