The Indian Malayalam-language period action film “Mamangam” directed by M. Padmakumar, has hit approximately 2000 big screens of the country on the 12th of December 2019.
Featuring Mammootty, Unni Mukundan, Prachi Tehlan and Achuthan in the lead roles, the film is all about the Mamankam festival of the 18th century in the banks of the Bharathappuzha at Tirunavaya, in the Malabar region.
The film was originally shot in Malayalam language but has also been dubbed into Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages. Thus, it has become the first Malayalam movie to release all over the world in four languages on the same day.
Mamangam’s Day 1 Box Office Collection
As per the reports, the movie budgeted of Rs 55 crores has already made a collection of Rs 1.35 crores in advance. While the advance collection made on the 10th of December 2019 was of Rs 55 lakhs, the advance collection made on the 11th of December 2019 was of Rs 80 lakhs.
In Kerala, all the theatres are hosting a minimum of four shows of the movie per day. The first show of the movie Mamangam began at 10:00 a.m. In Kochi, one of the theaters has hosted as many as 16 shows of the movie on its first day of release.
The numerous views of the trailer of the film suggest that the audience was eagerly waiting for the film. Thus, the film will not only catch the attention of fans but will also compel them to step their feet into the theaters to watch the movie.
According to the response the movie is getting, it is expected that the film may earn Rs 15 crores on its first day and 12 crores on day 2. The total lifetime box office collection of the movie Mamangam is expected to go beyond Rs 200 crores.
