Actor Karthi’s new theatrical release titled Japan hit the film screen across Tamil Nadu and all over the world on 10 November 2023. Now that the film’s theatrical run has almost ended, the audience is eager to know about its OTT release so here’s everything you need to know.
Japan is a heist action comedy film revolving around a notorious master thief who steals ₹200 crore worth of jewels from a jewelry shop in Coimbatore, following which a cat-and-mouse chase ensues between him and the police.

Alongside Karthi who plays a character named Japan Muni a renowned burglar who lives king-sized, the film stars Anu Emmanuel, Sunil, Vijay Milton, Jithan Ramesh, K. S. Ravikumar, and others in supporting roles.
Written and directed by Raju Murugan, Japan is produced by S. R. Prakash Babu and S. R. Prabhu under the banner of Dream Warrior Pictures. The music of the film is composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar. The cinematography is done by Ravi Varman and Philomin Raj has edited the film.
Japan OTT Release Date
It is reported that Japan will be streaming on Netflix from the 11th of December. The official announcement was made by Netflix on Twitter with the caption “WANTED: @karthi_offl for stealing our hearts (and also some jewels along the way)#Japan, coming to Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada on 11 Dec!”
