Jigarthanda DoubleX, released on 10th November went on to become one of the most critically acclaimed films of the year. And now every film buff is eager to know when the film will be released on an OTT platform. So here is everything you need to know about it.
The first Jigarthanda, released in 2014, is regarded as one of the best films ever made in the Tamil film industry. It gave Karthik Subbaraj, the writer and director of the film, critical acclaim and wide acceptance from the audience. Jigarthanda DoubleX happens to be a prequel to Jigarthanda.

The film stars Raghava Lawrence and S. J. Suryah as the two main leads. Naveen Chandra, Nimisha Sajayan, Shine Tom Chacko, Ilavarasu, Sathyan, Aravind Akash, and others will be seen playing supporting roles.
Written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Jigarthanda DoubleX is an action comedy film. The film’s cinematography was done by Tirru. The music was composed by Santhosh Narayanan and Shafique Mohamed Ali edited the film. Made with an estimated budget of 100 crores, the film is produced under the banners of Stone Bench Films, Five Star Creations, and Invenio Origin.
Jigarthanda DoubleX OTT Release Date
The film premieres on Netflix on the 8th of December. The official announcement was made by Netflix on Twitter with the caption “Jigarthanda Double X is coming on Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi as a post-theatrical release!”
