Finally, the World on Fire is coming back to Masterpiece on PBS for its season 2. Here is everything we know about the upcoming season.
After witnessing a mind-boggling world of action, thrill, and drama curated by Peter Bowker, the creator, and writer of the World on Fire Season 1, the fans are pretty eager for the series sequel. The creators have delivered an out-of-the-box plot that follows a sequence of characters as they engage in the battlefields for survival. World on Fire was renewed for its season 2 much earlier by Peter. However, due to the covid-19 pandemic circumstances, the shooting work was rescheduled. The pandemic delayed the production work, and the fans had to wait long. But, if the situation favors and the makers can kick start the shoot in summer 2021, we can expect the movie to land at the end of this year or early 2022.
However, it pretty obvious that there will be a delay between the U.K. premiere date and the release date on PBS. So, the PBS audience will have to wait a little more.

The second edition of World on Fire will mostly like to bring tons of characters from Season 1. Although the makers have not officially revealed a cast list for season 2, we can predict some of the names coming in the second season. The show’s prominent faces like Julia Brown, Sean Bean, Helen Hunt, Lesley Manville, and Jonah Hauer-King will probably come back in season 2.
