A highly gratifying historical drama, The Last Kingdom, based on Bernard Cornwell’s Saxon Stories series of Novel,s is soon coming back. It wouldn’t be long before fans get to savor the epic cinematography and power-packed action sequences. After four magnificent seasons, season 5 is already round the corner as filming is underway. When is The Last Kingdom Season 5 Releasing?
Season 4 of The Last Kingdom premiered in April 2020, Netflix announced the renewal. Filming for the show took place in Hungary, and the production is underway.
The show usually brings its subsequent season within a gap of 18 months, given that the show could have released by October 2021, but Covid 19 has pushed the release in ambiguity. Speculation suggests the show won’t premiere before 2022.
Who will be in the cast of The Last Kingdom Season 5?
The show makers are quiet and haven’t spilled the beans. No details regarding the official star cast have been published, but Alexander Dreymon, who plays Uhtred of Bebbanburg, has a sure shot at returning.
Emily Fox will also be reprising the character of Brida, who was last seen giving birth alone in the forest. Adrian Schiller has confirmed his part in Season 5 as Aethelhelm. The trio, Mark Rowly, Ewan Mitchell, and Arnas Fedaravicius, is expected to return.

The fifth season of The Last Kingdom is based on the ninth and tenth novels, Warriors of the Storm and The Flame Bearer. Many questions need to be answered in Season 5 like; Will Uhtred fight for his love, Aetheflaed, or will he side with his daughter and Danes.
