After a successful run of the first season, Netflix’s ‘The Irregulars’ is rumored to have a second installment. The show is about a group of teens, recruited by Dr. Watson, who attempt to solve a series of mysteries. Set in Victorian London, it perfectly in bodies the power of friendship and romance in a mystery and thriller show.
The first season of The Irregulars was released on March 26, 2021, with eight episodes full of suspense. It has been a bona fide success and has left the viewers waiting eagerly for some news about the next season.
The Irregulars Season 2 Release Date
Even though Netflix hasn’t made any official announcement about the renewal of The Irregulars, the show has been listed in an issue of Production Weekly, a magazine that announces which films and shows have been slated to go into production.
The magazine listed season 2 to start filming in Liverpool in the summer. Still, there is no confirmation about the release date as Netflix is yet to make an announcement regarding the renewal of the show.
In an interview with Radio Times, the screenwriter Tom Bidwell and the cast shared their enthusiasm for a second season. If we’re allowed to come back, we will hit the ground running for sure,” said Bidwell to Radio Times.
The Irregulars Season 2 Cast
The cast from the first season-Harrison Osterfield, Thaddea Graham, Darci Shaw, Jojo Macari, McKell David, and Royce Pierreson are expected to return for season two.
It is unclear whether Henry Lloyd-Hughes who plays the role of Sherlock Holmes will return with the rest. This is mainly due to the ending of the first season, where Holmes enters another dimension with his partner Alice, played by Eileen O’Higgins.
As for a new cast, it cannot be said if the show sticks with the old cast or introduces new characters or the old ones from the classic tales of Sherlock Holmes. Maybe we can expect a role of Moriarty or even Queen Victoria, who is mentioned in the first season but never appears.
The Irregulars Season 2: What to Expect
There are certainly some new ideas for the second season. We can expect to know more about Leopold and the Royal Family, what happens to Sherlock, and more details about the group and their love stories.
