The COVID-19 pandemic is creating Havoc in all parts of the country. Telangana has also been witnessing a sharp increase in newly infected cases. The State Government is taking many small and significant measures to curve the Spread of Infection. In line with this, Telangana has identified a total number of 495 micro containment zones. GHMC has also added up to 63 micro containment zones within Hyderabad limits. Details are:
- Charminar – 12 Containment Zones
- Secunderabad – 11 Containment Zones
- L.B.Nagar – 10 Containment Zones
- Khairatabad – 10 Containment Zones
- Kukatpally – 10 Containment Zones
- Serilingampally – 10 Containment Zones
The list of all containment zones is available on the GHMC official website. The criteria for declaring micro containment zones are based on finding more than five positive cases within a close locality.
As per a GHMC high-ranking official statement, there will be no posters and barricades like last year. Unlike previous year there will be no strict vigilance involving police and health official. It is the full responsibility of the citizens to maintain the COVID-19 appropriate behavior to control the rising cases. GHMC will maintain the sanitation of the area for public hygiene. The government has requested citizens to be at home and leave only for essential work. The state government has called for stringent action on persons breaking containment zone rules.
Telangana reported 5,550 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, making it the highest spike for a day till today. With the daily increase in numbers, the state government has already imposed night curfews. COVID-19 hospitals and beds are added to cater to more patients. Recently, Telangana started a new website to monitor live bed availability in the state’s government and civil hospitals.
