The much-awaited Dhanush starrer Karnan is announced for display in cinemas from 9th April. Due to the pandemic, the makers were in doubt to release it on the OTT, as most of the films or pushed the release until things get back to normal. But the makers have come to terms with the situation and decided to release the Mari Selvaraj directed project in theatres by following the necessary Covid protocol.

The duty of sanitization and audience safety lies in the hands of screen owners and managers. However, the makers have decided to make sure the movie releases with an occupancy of 50% to ensure cinemagoers’ safety from their side.

Karnan Pre-release Status

As per trade pundits, the fifty percent occupancy will affect the movie’s revenue, but the much-awaited Karnan has already garnered a massive Rs. 26 crores even before its release in theatres.

Karnan’s pre-release collection broke Dhanush’s last released Asuran (2019) record, making 25 crore INR as its pre-release revenue.

It’s nice to know that Indian cinema is trying to cope with the situations, but it’s our responsibility to ensure our safety. Please follow the protocols and keep yourself and your family safe.
