Dave Season 2: Expected Release Date, Filming and Production, Cast, Plot Details

Lil Dicky’s admirers have been euphoric since Dave season 1 came out on March 4, 2020. The American comedy-drama tv series depicts a fictionalized version of Lil Dicky, the rapper, an unstable, sub-urban guy who believes that he is bound to become the best rapper in the world. He is supremely optimistic about it and that too at a level that is unhealthy.

The tv series released on FXX and was much praised and favored by the critics massively who loved the humor in the series, citing it as a progressive approach to character development and better emotional depth throughout the first season. It became one of the most viewed series on FXX by grossing a viewership of 5.32 million in each episode, thus becoming the most top-rated comedy ever.

Expected Release:

The first season came to an end with a bang and had the fans waiting for the next season. The show, which premiered on March 4, 2020,and ended onApril 29, 2020, is being considered for renewal; the creators, for now, on the fans’ demands, renewed the series for a second season on May 11, 2020. There have been speculations about releasing the season by the end of Spring 2021, assuming that the first season did the same.

Filming and Production:

The disruption caused by COVID-19 had a massive blow on the entertainment industry; for now, we are not even sure if filming of the second season has even begun. Though if the rumors are true, then we can anticipate its release in mid-2021. Lil Dicky was quite enthusiastic with the second season coming up, expressing how grateful he has been for the kind of overwhelming response he has got from fans.

Casting:

The series is premised around this brat, Dave (by Lil Dicky / Dave Burd), who is too much hyped up by his on-stage man, GaTa (playing himself), Mike ( by Andrew Santino), who is his roommate and manager, and Elliot ( by Travis ‘Taco’ Bennett’), his friend who works as a Dj. Emma ( by Christine Ko) is Dave’s graphic designer and Ally’s roommate. Ally ( by Taylor Misiak) is Dave’s on and off girlfriend almost for the whole of season 1. The actors will resume their roles in season 2 with an addition of few entrants.

The show caught everyone’s eyes cause of the guest appearances by these megastars such as Justin Bieber, Young Thug, Macklemore, Marshmallow, Angela Lee, Charlemagne the God, and Kourtney Kardashian. We may see these celebrities again in season 2, along with Snoop Dogg, Fetty Wap, T- Pain, and Brandon Urie.

Plot Expectations:

The first season concluded with Dave and Ally’s breakup as he failed to be with her when she needed him. He can attain a deal finally with a record label, working on his first track. There is some tension between his friends and him, which he skillfully manages by taking their advice and rapping at the live radio station called “The Breakfast Club” and receiving a decent advance.

We can be expecting to see the rise of the rapper, assuming the show has been loosely based on the real-life of Lil Dicky. We may see him in the second season to be collaborating with artists like Snoop Dogg and T-Pain and making viral songs like “$ave Dat Money” and “Molly.”
