As the name suggests that film is set in the year 1983 in Mumbai. The story revolves around a patriotic policeman whose career transcends when he became a dean in the police academy. The film is based on real-life incidents as the policeman played by Bobby Deol trains aspiring police cadets to take down an underworld gang and their leader Kalsekar.

Class of ’83 is heavily inspired by the book, namely ‘The Class of 83’ penned down by Hussain Zaidi. This is the third time that Netflix and Red Chillies Entertainment collaborated after the release of Netflix Original Betaal and Bard of Blood.

The story revolves around a celebrate police office named Vijay Singh who was punished and sent to a police academy to become a dean. However, he decided to punish the corrupt system, bureaucracy, and the criminal allies by training the top five policemen who are as lethal as assassins.
