Following today’s final of Y: The Last Man today it makes sense to want to know a little more about a season 2. If only we had a little more to say when it comes to good news!
For now, here’s just some of what we know: unfortunately, the series was canceled by FX on Hulu earlier this year, with performance more than likely the big reason why. In order to allow for more episodes, the final product must be financially viable and for whatever reason, it was determined that this was not the case.
The timing of the cancellation came as the biggest surprise, especially since streaming shows don’t typically stop mid-run. Instead, executives often wait a while to see performance before trying to make a bigger decision about the future.
that’s how we are Surely at the end of the road now for the series: We wouldn’t go that far…at least not yet. Discussions are underway to try and find another home for the show and we understand some of the reasoning behind trying to make this work. We are talking about a property that is still quite early in the running and with the premise it has there could in theory be some suitors. Finding another home can be tricky, but not all hope is lost at this point.
We wish there was a way to measure the true probability of Y: The Last Man get another house. In the end, let’s say this: don’t be too optimistic. That’s not a statement against the show; rather, it’s a reminder that the vast majority of programs that get canceled stay that way. a .’s success stories Match or a Manifesto are few and far between.
