Absentia Summary of last season
The series tells the story of FBI Special Agent Emily Byrne who disappears without a trace while hunting one of Boston’s most notorious serial killers and was pronounced dead in Absentia. Six years later, she was found in a cabin in the woods, barely alive with no memory of the years she was missing after Nick got a call from someone who looked like Conrad Harlow, but he didn’t accept it.
She returns home to learn that her husband Nick has remarried and that her son was raised by the new wife. She soon becomes involved in another series of murders. Conrad Harlow was put behind bars for killing Emily, but he was released because there was no evidence that he killed her, as she, too, remembered nothing.
Season 2 saw Emily once again investigating a serial killer as she tried to unravel the mystery of her six-year disappearance. In a shocking ending, it was revealed that Alice, the new wife of Emily’s ex-husband Nick, was involved in Emily’s disappearance. Alice was then killed by FBI head Julianne Gunnarson during a confrontation with Emily.
