Top 10 Craziest PS5 Rumors 2020 Which All The Fans Want to See

It’s official! The PS5 is coming in 2020, but we don’t know exactly when, yet!

However, Sony has launched an official website allowing you to sign up for news on the release date but hasn’t released any official dates or estimations.

So, to keep you up to date on everything we know so far, here’s a list of the 10 craziest PS5 rumors all fans want to see!

The 10 Craziest PS5 Rumors All Fans Want to See

The list of crazy PS5 rumors and figures mentioned below have been compiled from various sources around the web, such as Expert Reviews & Tech Radar.

These are the 10 craziest PS5 rumors all fans want to see:

10. PS5 Official Website Is Live!

If you’re counting down the clock and can’t wait for the PS5 to be released, then you’ll be pleased to know that the official PS5 website is live!

You can sign up to be among the first to receive updates about the PS5 release date, price and launch games. So, sign up now and you’ll be ahead of the pack!

This also suggests that the PS5 might be just around the corner, or at least, a little be sooner than we thought.

However, it’s probably unlikely which is why it comes in at number ten on the list, with a more probable release date being around holiday 2020, to coincide with the Xbox Series X!

9. PS5 Interface: How will the PS5 Interface look?

It goes without saying that the PS4s interface is known to be a bit on the clunky side, and not enjoyable to use at all. So, it’s rumored that the new PS5 will be getting a complete overhaul and a fresh new UI.

It’s looking likely that “Games” & “Apps” will have separate distinct menus, which is great, as that means they’re not all lumped together like they are on the PS4.

Also, the menus are likely to display more at-a-glance, and present players with real-time information about any game they’re playing, as well as new options to make joining games with friends easier and more fluid.

However, bare in mind that these are just rumors that have come from the PS5 dev kits, so it’s highly likely that the final UI will look a lot different to what’s mentioned above.

8. PS5 Games: The titles we can expect

This one everyone wants to know… what games will launch with the PS5?

Well, some titles that might appear in the official line up are Watch Dogs Legion, Gods & Monsters and Rainbow Six Quarantine.

Sony has also announced that PS5 launch exclusives will not be compatible on the PS4, which is an interesting move considering the Xbox Series X is doing the complete opposite.

Other PS5 games you can expect to see are FIFA, NBK2k and Madden, as they’re released like clockwork and have a massive fan base.

7. PS5 Design: What will the PS5 look like?

At first glance, the patent images and render mockups of the PS5 aren’t the most appealing to the eye.

However, like the rest of the rumors on the list, they’re exactly that, rumors. So, it’s more than likely that the PS5 will look a lot better when it’s released, as we can’t see it selling very well with its current design.

The PS5 patent shows a rather clunky looking machine with a v-shaped chassis, a ton of USB ports and a disc drive.

The unique v-shape design is meant to improve heat reduction and keep the console cool, however, it’s kind of on the borderline of the form vs function debate, as giving up aesthetics for a slightly cooler machine might not be worth it for some.

But again, these are just rumors based on a patent and some renders, so we will have to wait and see what the final design brings.

6. PS5 Pro: Will there be TWO consoles?

Now, this is an interesting rumor as launching two separate consoles, a standard PS5 and a PS5 Pro that can compete with the Xbox Series X, could be a really smart move by Sony, especially if the consoles are considerably different price points.

This would allow them to broaden their target market and appeal to all sorts of gamers, and, would also explain why the PS5 specs look so different in comparison to the Xbox Series X.

VFXVeteran claims that the PS5 Pro will be just as powerful as the Xbox Series X, at around 12 Teraflops, which makes the idea of a PRO model seam like it could happen, as Sony must be thinking about the competition, surely?!

However, as good as a PS5 PRO games console sounds, take this rumor with a pinch of salt as nothing has been confirmed and it’s still just a rumor!

5. Official Release Date: When will the PS5 launch?

With the launch of the PS5s official site and a lot of speculation around a spring/summer launch, Sony has said that the PS5 will be released in Holiday 2020.

If they stick to their word, that means that we’re not going to be seeing the PS5 for at least another six months, which makes it more likely to be released alongside the Xbox Series X in November this year.

If Sony stays true to the PS4 release date, November 15, 2013, then we’ll definitely be seeing the PS5 released toward the latter end of this year.

Until then, we’re just going to have to sit tight, sign up to the official PS5 website and wait to hear more news on when the PS5 will be released!

4. Backwards Compatibility: PS4, PS3, PS2 & PS1?

If you’re wondering whether the PS5 will support your current PS4 titles, and vice versa, then we can tell you that Sony has confirmed this to be true. And, the PlayStation VR headset will also be included!

However, nothing has been finalised for the PS3, PS2 and PS1, so despite the rumors that it will support the older consoles, it still remains nothing more than a rumor.

Also, Mark Cerny said that “developers have tested the top 100 PS4 games, and discovered that the majority of them will work seamlessly with the PlayStation 5.”

So there will be some titles that won’t work initially, which ones are unclear, but its probable that they’ll be brought up to speed sometime after the release.

3. New DualShock Controller

What we know so far is that Sony has been working on a new DualShock controller design, which is similar to the DualShock PS4 controller.

Some of the rumored upgrades include haptic feedback, to improve the rumble sensation, and some kind of microphone grill, which is thought to be for the PS5s voice assistant!

Also, Sony demonstrated how this new controller could actually make you feel the difference between terrains, like sand or ice, or, a dirt road compared to a normal track.

It’s also rumored to be true that the controller will come with adaptive figures, which allow players to feel the sensation of driving and or, firing a bow and arrow.

Other rumors surrounding the DualShock controller are that it will have wireless charging capabilities and be able to monitor your heart rate and sweat.

Let’s hope those last two rumors are true, as that would be awesome!

2. Game Streaming

The second craziest PS5 rumor so far, in our opinion, is the potential for game streaming.

Sony has struck a deal with Microsoft to be able to leverage Microsoft’s Azure Cloud Platform in order to launch their very own game-streaming service.

This is to stay on top of current trends and try and catch up with an increasingly fast-growing market.

Their game streaming feature could be known as, “Seamless”, as that’s what Sony spoke about at one of their latest press events.

It was described as “anywhere, anytime without distractions”, which to us, definitely sounds like it’s along the lines of a streaming service, but again, it’s not official yet so only time will tell.

1. PS5 Price: What’s it going to cost?

We think the craziest PS5 rumor so far is the amount of different numbers floating around regarding the PS5s price. Anything from $400 up to $1000 has been mentioned online, however, $500 is more realistic, given its hardware and necessary profit margins for Sony.

With that said, $499 is a number that’s been circulating on Twitter recently and does sound more believable, as it’s pretty similar in comparison to the PS4 and PS3 when they were released.

But, like all the other rumors on the list, there’s no way of knowing for sure until the console is actually released.

However, $499 for the PS5 and up to $600 for the PS5 Pro, if there is one, looks in the realms of possibility, considering older console prices upon release and the costs involved in building a PS5.

So, as a ballpark figure, you should expect to pay no less than $430 for the PS5, but that’s just our prediction, it could always be more.
