One of the biggest hurdles Molly Hopkins and Luis Mendez found that love couldn’t conquer was communication — or lack thereof.
Right off the bat, Molly’s family was an obstacle in their relationship. Not only was Molly’s dad skeptical of her and Luis’ love, but so were her kids. Molly’s eldest daughter Olivia was not Luis’ biggest fan. While Olivia wanted happiness for her mom, she didn’t exactly care what Luis thought of her — and Luis sort of felt the same. This ended up all coming to a head for Molly and Luis.
Molly wanted Luis to step up to the plate and be a father figure for her two girls. When Luis was less than worried about it, Molly was upset over his actions. The pair ended up in a series of blowouts about parenting, even leading Luis to leave Molly’s house in Georgia. The two then chronicled their split on “90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After,” though their relationship was far from happy.
