BritBox, the joint venture between the BBC and ITV, has an essential revelation about The Beast Must Die. By the looks of it, BritBox has carried the mantel of developing the second season for the said U.K. drama.

According to BritBox, the first couple of episodes featuring Jared Harris alongside Cush Jumbo has reportedly broken records since its premiere. Nevertheless, the service has walked off from decline the actual viewership number.

The first season was adapted from the 1938 novel with the same name. The author of the novel was Nicholas Blake, a pseudonym famously used by Cecil Day-Lewis, father of Daniel Day-Lewis. The book revolves around a grieving mother who manages to infiltrate the life of the man who supposedly killed her son.

Gaby Chiappe, the writer of Vera, turned the novel into a spectacle for the audience to watch on BritBox. Moreover, the series was produced by Scott Free, the production house of Ridley Scott and New Regency Television.

What will be Season 2 about?

As per sources, the second season will pack an original story developed by Chiappe. The second season title has already received a title, ‘A Sword in my Bones.’ Moreover, the second season will be centered on Billy Howle, who was recently cast in ‘The Serpent.’ Howle will be reprising the role of Detective Nigel Strangeways.

AMC picked up the first season in the U.S. Endeavor Content and then broken the deal on behalf of Scott Free and New Regency. So far, New Regency International Sales will be distributing the series globally.
