Thappad, a Bollywood movie released on 28th February which had to face a lot of criticism due to the shallowness in the theme is running its first day in the screens. Yet the subtle nature Anubhav Sinha (director) leaves in this movie makes it more of a slap to everyone who watches and feels the movie.
A happily married couple from an upper-middle-class family arranges a party in which her husband impulsively slaps her. Even though it was a remote incident, she takes it very seriously and starts thinking about the meaning of the marriage itself. Even she questions her love towards him. This makes the premise of the movie. The wounded ego of the wife takes their life to another level in the movie. Let’s have a look at how it is doing on the very first day of its release.
Thappad Box Office Collection: Day 1
Thappad as a low-budget movie is expected to perform decently on day one in the box office.
It is predicted that the movie will be able to earn at least 3 cores on the first day(Friday).
On average the movie only had an occupancy of 12 percent on morning and afternoon show. The movie is part of a trilogy with Article 15, Mulk already released. The wonderful success both movies received can’t be ignored. If the movie manages to receive 3 crores on the first day itself, it can be said the movie did well on the first day.
Another lucky factor is that no other big budget or highly anticipated movies are releasing with Thappad.
