Stranger Things Season 4: Release Date, Theories and Latest Rumors

Stranger Things, the nostalgia-laden sci-fi adventure, was confirmed for a fourth season back in September 2019. Fans can expect some answers following ‘The Battle of Starcourt,’ the explosive season three finale which saw some significant plotlines collide. Although the release date is not yet confirmed, the teaser trailer, which dropped on May 6, 2021, should at least satisfy fan cravings for a little bit till they can finally revisit the upside-down town of Hawkins, Indiana.

Stranger Things Season 4 Plot

The disappearance of young Will Byers catalyzes the strange various strange events in the small town. During their attempts to find Will, his friends Mike, Dustin and Lucas discover the secrets of the town laboratory. It is soon revealed that this lab, performing research for the United States Department of Energy, has accidentally created a portal to an alternate dimension, “the Upside Down.” The friends reunite, and with the help of Eleven, a young girl who escapes from the lab must protect the world from the paranormal dangers released by the lab.

The third season is set some months later; while navigating teenage woes, the group must again battle with sinister elements who want to reopen the gateway to the Upside Down.

The teaser trailer for the fourth season takes us back in time. The clip shows where Dr. Brenner, the main antagonist from the first season, performed his experiments on children. We see multiple children in the same hospital gowns that Eleven used in series one. The trailer ends with a voiceover saying, “Eleven are you listening”? and cuts to Eleven waking up in shock. The trailers ominous music and tone all point to an exciting season ahead

Although there is no official release date, the official news from the cast regarding the filming of the current season means fans can expect to see the show back on air next year.
