The official confirmation and announcement of the release date were made by the actors N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan on Twitter. They both tweeted, “Fire 🔥 and Water 🌊 will come together to make an unstoppable FORCE as you’ve never witnessed! Get Ready to experience Indian Cinema in its finest avatar on October 13, 2021 👊🏼 #RRRFestivalOnOct13th #RRR #RRRMovie.”
A statement said by the film’s producer D. V. V. Danayya, also confirmed the same. It stated, “We have come to the end of RRR’s shooting schedule and are very excited to bring this film to the audiences. We are happy to celebrate a massive festival like Dussehra with the audience in the theatres.”
Earlier, it was announced that the film RRR would release on the 30th of July, 2020. However, due to unavoidable incidents that took place with the actors during production and, of course, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the filmmakers had to stop the production and postpone the release of the film. The production of the film finally resumed back in Hyderabad in October 2020.
The film RRR narrates a fictional story about Indian freedom fighters Alluri Sitarama Raju (Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Rama Rao), who fought against the British Raj Nizam of Hyderabad, respectively.
