When Netflix started to dip its toes in reality shows, they produced hits like ‘Selling Sunset’ and ‘Love is Blind’. Another one of such shows, Prank Encounters, was introduced to the people back in 2019.
Similar to a show like ‘Scare Tactics’, Prank Encounters is a horror-themed show which plays pranks on strangers who are fake-hired for a job. It is presented by ‘Stranger Things’ star Gaten Matarazzo. Due to its theme, the show received major backlash from the viewers.
Some called the show “unwitting” and that its premise “preys on vulnerable people looking for work”. Even after facing controversies, the show got the green light for a second season. This could only mean that there are people who watch the show dedicatedly because of which the question of a third season arose.
Prank Encounters Season 3 Release Date
Season two of Prank Encounters was premiered on April 1. Netflix has defended the show by stating that the people who participated were not under the impression of thinking that they would get hired full-time.
With regards to the third season, Netflix is yet to announce the renewal or cancellation of the third installment of the show. Another whole season of Prank Encounters would depend on how people take the second season, if it generates more controversies or if the viewers increase.
Prank Encounters Season 3 Cast
It is for sure that Gaten Matarazzo will return as the host if Prank Encounters is in for a third season. Matarazzo also executive produces the show alongside Ben Silverman, Rob Hyde, Kevin Healey, and Howard Owens.
Being a reality show, it does not have a fixed cast. However, the show features a few actors who play a role in the pranks which changes in each episode. Some of the actors who have appeared are David Storrs, Henry Dittman, Peter Giles, Mary Gallagher, Sven Holmberg, and Kerri J. Baldwin.
The participants also change in every episode. The same would be followed for the third season of Prank Encounters if there is one.
