Netflix has already renewed its hit and critically acclaimed franchise Narcos’s spin-off series, Narcos: Mexico, back in October 2020. Narcos: Mexico is a crime drama series that Doug Miro and Chris Brancato created. The series initially planned to release the fourth season of Narcos; however, due to other drug lords’ prominence and how the DEA and other intelligence agencies stopped their rackets, the creators decided to go ahead with the spin-off Narco: Mexico.

In the first season, talented actors like Michael Pena and Diego Luna have already made their mark with their characters in Narcos: Mexico. The fans and critics both loved the characters and premise. Narcos: Mexico’s second season dropped last year on February 13, 2020, whereas the first season was released sometime in late 2018.

However, Netflix has already renewed the Narcos: Mexico a few months after the second season’s release. By the looks of it, the third season renewal announcement was made back in October 2020.

Bad Bunny, acclaimed Latin Pop-star, revealed during an interview with Rolling Stone back in May 2020 that Narcos: Mexico had already shot the scenes with a supporting cast a year ago. However, the disruption of COVID-19 ultimately led to the postponing of the series. Bad Bunny also revealed during the interview that he hopes Narcos will be shot in late 2020.

The Hollywood Reporter unveiled that the show was renewed on the 28th of October 2020, but several massive changes will be an integral part of the third season.

By its looks, Carlo Bernard is taking the complete reign of the duty of show running from the hands of Eric Newman. For a long time now, Carlo has been an integral part of all first seasons in the Narcos franchise. It will be easier for Carlo to get the job done without a hiccup.

Moreover, Diego Luna plays an odd chance of not appearing in the third season. Additionally, Netflix can also not confirm with Scoot McNairy will be making a return for the third season of Narcos: Mexico. Another vital piece of news that will make all the fans happy is that Wagner Moura, who was shot into prominence for playing Drug Lord Pablo Escober in the first three seasons of Narcos, will helm the role of the director for two episodes.
