The biopic of Muthiah Muralidaran who is a Sri Lankan cricket player, a spin legend is under production. The film is written and directed by MS Sripathy. The film will be released in multiple languages Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil. Earlier the movie was going to be titled “800” but it is still not final and the makers have not let out any other information about this.
Muthiah Murlidaran’s character will be played by the actor Vijay Sethupathi. Vijay is popularly known for his great work in the movie Pizza which was released in 2012. The film will be based on the life story of a famous cricketer and his struggles and challenges will be shown in the film. The film was earlier decided to be released in 2020 but it got postponed due to the worldwide spread of novel coronavirus.
Vijay Sethupathi is very happy and honored to be portraying the role of Muthiah Muralidharan. He said that it is going to be challenging but he will do his best to justify the role he has been given.
Muthiah Murlidaran is a legend player and has a record of 1317 in international cricket, 800 wickets in Test matches, 634 in ODIs. He has a big role when Sri Lanka won the World Cup in 1996. He is married to Madhimalar Ramamurthy and has been blessed with a boy which he named Naren.
