The TVF channel on YouTube has been one of India’s first ‘YouTubers’; these guys have maintained the level of brilliance for almost more than a decade now, creating one of the most astoundingly creative content.
In 2019 the channel came up with a web series, Kota factory, a gem of a series for students; the series was heavily praised for being virtuous and profoundly realistic in putting forth students’ actual struggles. There has been an uproar demand for the second season among its admirers, which now, as confirmed, be renewed.
The series aired on YouTube from 16 April 2019 to 14 May 2019. It was also available on the TVF play app, an app that exhibits all the content of TVF. The series received prodigious praise from critics and audience who were immensely fascinated with the backdrop and monochrome setting, not to forget how the whole series has been shot in black and white, proving that class content will be well perceived even if it is black and white.
Premise and Plot:
The series revolves around Vaibhav, a 16 year IIT aspirant from a small town, Itarsi. To pursue his dream of getting into IIT, he moves to Kota, a hub of coaching centers and students, a place of cut-throat competition. It shows how the students struggle to cope up with their studies managing other things along.
The series gives us a healthy dose of fun, friendship, seriousness, failure giving us a clear picture of what a rat-race looks like, how peer pressure can bring the best and worst out of you. How can friendship prove to be a boon if the company is right? How can a crush turn into love and add something valuable to your life?
The first season ended in Vaibhav moving to the Agarwal Classes leaving his friends and his supposedly love interest behind, the coaching classes he primarily wanted to join but couldn’t get in; fans can’t wait to see how Vaibhav manages it over there and what else the story has in the bag for them. Thus a season 2 has been much in demand since season 1 ended.
The Larger Picture:
Through Kota factory, the creator aims to bring about, even if small, a change in the education system in India, emphasizing the engineering field; he wants to show and change the perception of the IIT studies and Kota, reflecting on the positive sides as well, to encourage the aspirants to pursue it and go for it.
