Karate Kalyani is an Indian Character artist and a comedian who prominently works in the Telugu film industry as well as for Telugu Television media. Her original name is Kalyani Padala. She is recorded to hold the Black Belt in Karate, hence got the name of Karate Kalyani.

Kalyani was born at Vijayanagaram, one of the districts in Andhra Pradesh. She comes from Yaadhava Community from Uttharandhra. Kalyani’s father used to be a famous Dolak/tabla player at their locality, while her mother is a housewife. She got married and the couple blessed with a Boychild.

She has done a total of 3 Television shows, all three were in Telugu language only. Her three serials include- Goranta Deepam, Muthyala Muggu in Zee Telugu, and Madhumamsam in Gemini TV. Her work in Madhumamsam got a good response as the show turned out to be a hit.
She made her debut as a character artist in the Tamil film Chathrapathy which got released in the year 2004. She played a comic role in 3 films of Ravi Teja- Krishna (2008), Mirapakay (2011), and Raja The Great (2017). She also played small roles in films like Yevade Subramanyam, Goutham Nanda, and Guntur Talkies.

She holds the record of performing Harikatha continuously for 114 Hours 45 Minutes and 55 seconds. She has also entered into the Limca Book of Records for holding this record. She was also seen participating in the debate on the casting couch topic where she spoke against Sri Reddy Mallidi regarding Casting Couch in the Industry. She completely opposed her and told media that those are false allegations on live Television.
Also, Kalyani was involved in gambling and got arrested by Hyderabad Task Force near Jahangir Nagar. She was seized with an amount of around 80,000 from the Taskforce officers.
Kalyani is now about to enter Big Boss house which will be premiered in Star Maa from 6th September 2020.
