Kamathipura, an anticipated web series’s release date, is reportedly deferred due to the introduction of new OTT guidelines in India. By the looks of it, the regulation has allegedly been revealed by the official authorities. Kamathipura was all set to release on the ever-growing streaming platform, Disney+Hotstar this week on Monday. However, as regulations are bringing in new changes to streaming, the web series will not release indefinite times.
After the show’s lead, the news came to light; Meera Chopra took it to Twitter to make the revelation. Additionally, the tweet, which revolves around the unexpected indefinite delay, has compelled everything associated with the series to bring in subtle changes before its country-wide release.
Kamathipura: Cast
Kamathipura features a talented cast backed up by a robust script. The series features actors like Tanuj Virwani, Meera Chopra, Varun Joshi, and Anang Desai. Moreover, the series also features Kulbhushan Kharbanda, who has a disclosed yet prominent role in the series. Every other detail regarding the series is the same; the only problem is the release date’s shifting.
Kamathipura: Plot
The series revolves around the notable red-light area of Mumbai, which is famous for prostitution. The series’s official synopsis came from Disney+Hotstar officials that the series narrates three murders and a mystery. Earlier speculations suggested that the plot will take viewers on the journey to Mumbai’s underbelly crime network. The series will also showcase the persisting issues like financial extortion, narcotics use, human trafficking, protection money, murder, among others.
Initially, the makers reached out to Amazon Prime Video to premiere the series; however, later, Disney+Hotstar decided to release the series on their ecosystem. At the time of writing, the release date is unknown, but as soon as the release date is finalized, we will cover it in future articles.
