How To Check Bed Availability In Telangana COVID Hospitals

With a sharp rise in COVID-19 cases, people from Telangana are finding out hard to locate vacant beds in Hospitals for COVID-19 case management. Citizens started to raise concerns about the proper management of patients. Earlier, The data provided on the official website of the state government was not updated.

People often denied beds at hospitals whereas as per the website beds were available. The inconsistency in updating of data was causing difficulties in finding beds for hospitalization of COVID-19 patients.

Telangana: New E Link to track live bed availability

On Wednesday, the Telangana government has come up with a new websitehttps://health.telangana.gov.in/that shows the availability of beds in government and civil hospitals. Specific details on total and occupied Regular beds, Beds with oxygen, and ICU beds are available on the website. It also provides real live time data on the availability of beds. According to the latest data for government and civil hospitals, there are 7886 oxygen beds and 3774 ICU beds are vacant. Detailed data is available on the given link.

Restrictions imposed due to increase in COVID-19 cases

  • The state government has already imposed a night curfew from 9 PM to 5 AM till May 1.
  • It is adding more micro-containment zones daily to curve the infections. There are already 495 active micro containment zones.

The much-awaited relief from the state government came after the active cases surpassed the 45000 marks in the state out of which 15,800 people are believed to be hospitalized. In the last 24 hours 6,400 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation reported the majority of the cases. Further, to tackle the scarcity of beds due to the sudden increase in cases Telangana government has decided to add more dedicated COVID-19 hospitals and beds.
