15th August 1947, marks a remarkable day in the history of India, as it was on this day that India had gained freedom from the British rule. Thus, India celebrates Independence Day on the 15th of August, each year. A huge celebration of Independence is witnessed by the people of India with tricolor flag hoisting, parades and cultural functions all over the country. A big celebration event is organized by the government of India at the Rajpath, India Gate in the National Capital, New Delhi where the people of all religions, cultures, and traditions come together to listen to the patriotic speech of our honorable Prime Minister. By celebrating this event, we remember all those great people who had sacrificed their precious lives and loved ones in making India an Independent country. With buildings illuminated by the tricolor, people pay homage to the great leaders who fought and gave up their lives for the country. The spirit of patriotism is seen across the entire country. Marking the bravery of the fighters, the country is going to celebrate its 73rd Independence Day this year. It is a national holiday when people express their happiness by flying kites, listening to patriotic songs and hoisting the national flag.
