The forthcoming Hindi-language Indian biographical film, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl is set for a release date i.e., August 12, 2020. Sharan Sharma helms the role of the director of the film and the film is produced by Zee Studios and Dharma Productions.
The film revolves around the life of India’s first female Flight Lieutenant Gunjan Singh, a Shaurya Chakra Awardee and a Kargil War veteran. The film is all set to release on Netflix, as the notable streaming service has brought the rights to distribute the film.
However, the film has already leaked on the piracy site, Tamilrockers, four days prior to the release. There streaming might get affected on Netflix as Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl is available for free download. The site has begun to get significant traffic as people prefer watching films free of cost rather than investing in a premium subscription.

The announcement of the film was done on the 26th of December 2019 where Jhanvi Kapoor shared the first-ever look of the film. According to sources, principal photography of the film began almost immediately and it was completed in October. Lucknow suited the need of the filmmakers for shooting and filmmaking.
Initially, decision of the producers was to release the film on the 13th of March 2020. Nevertheless, due to pandemic the release date was postponed to April 24, 2020. Then Netflix stepped in and acquired the rights of the films.
