Gulabo Sitabo’s release date officially confirmed by Amazon Prime, set for a direct OTT release

The Chinese originated coronavirus has hit hard the entire world. Because of the nationwide lockdown, each and every place is closed and all the industries are facing a huge amount of losses. Among such industries is the film industry. The impact of coronavirus on the business of the film industry is quite devastated.

However, there is one good news among all the negativity going on around the world. The good news is that the coronavirus may have closed all the theatres around the world but it could not stop the release of the movies. Yes, you read that right!!

After Hollywood choosing the online platform to release the movies, it’s now time for Bollywood to step on the same path and move forward digitally. The first Bollywood film “Gulabo Sitabo” directed by Shoojit Sarkar, is all set and ready to be released on the digital platform i.e. Amazon Prime, on Friday, 12th of June 2020. The film features Ayushmann Khurrana and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead roles.

In a recent interview attended by Shoojit Sarkar, he said that his preparation to release the film on the digital platform is going on.

Talking about his character and digital release, Amitabh said, ‘Gulabo Sitabo is a Drama and Comedy film, a must watch with family. I am very excited about my character, in which Shoojit has given me such a character look for the first time. It used to take me 3 hours every day to get into this different look. ‘ He told that during the shooting of the film, Ayushmann used to have a lot of fun and the experience of working with him for the first time was also very fun. Big B is delighted to be released to a worldwide audience on the digital platform.’

Ayushmann said, ‘Gulabo Sitabo is a very special film for me. Through this film, I got an opportunity to work with my mentor Shujit Da Ka again after the film Vicky Donor. Whatever I am today is because of him and I am happy that I have become part of his thoughts again. For the first time in this film, I got the opportunity to work with Amitabh Bachchan and it was a dream come true. I had dreamed of working with him in my mind for years, which Shoojit has fulfilled. I hope the audience will like our chemistry.’
