The trailer of the new Netflix series Guilty produced by Karan Johar and directed by Rucki Narain has released. The series cast Kiara Advani (played Preeti Sikka in Kabir Singh) as a lead role, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor (Wedding Pullav), Gurfateh Singh Pizada (Friends in Law), Taher Shabbir (Nisha Aur Uske Cousins) and Dalip Tahil (Mission Mangal).
The characters of Guilty are introduced as songwriter Nanki Dutta (Kiara Advani) and her bandmates Tashi, Hardy, Vijay (“VJ”) Pratap Singh who is playing her boyfriend. Their fun freewheeling life takes a turn after VJ is accused of rape by a girl named Tanu Kumar.
Last year, in April, Guilty was announced as one of 10 new Netflix original films, along with the directional and Projectional ventures from Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee, Shah Rukh Khan, Anurag Shukla, Ronnie Screwvala, Farah Khan, Sudhir Mishra. Guilty has been produced by Johar’s Dharmic which is an extension of Dharma Productions. CEO of Dharma Apprva Mehta has also helped in the production of Guilty alongside Johar.
Karan Johar’s Fifth Collaboration
Guilty is the fifth collaboration of Johar and Netflix after romantic anthology film Lust Stories, the action movie Drive cast by Jacqueline Fernandez and Sushant Singh Rajput, the horror film Ghost Stories, and dating reality show What The Love.
There has also been an announcement of three new movies: Ma Anand Sheela documentary, a Madhuri Dixit led series written by Sri Rao, a relationship film The Other, cast by Manav Kaul and Shefali Shah.
The release date of ‘Guilty’ is March 6, 2020, on Netflix.
