The film got released in four languages- Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam. the film earned around 132 Crores across worldwide, 67 Crores overseas, and the gross amount is 80 Cr. The film got around 4.2 Cr in the Chennai region itself.
According to various sources, the film got influenced by some other big films releasing along with Darbar of which some are ‘Chaapak’, ‘Tanhaji’, ‘Sarileru Neekevaru’, ‘Ala Vaikuntapuramlo’ and many more at the box-office.
According to the film critics, the movie was performing well as it was opened well by the fans of superstar Rajnikanth. Though some people have complained about the 2nd half and story, Fans of Rajinikanth are enjoying this film. So, this film is just like Rajinikanth’s previous ‘Petta’, which is also a fan fest.
The film can cross 100 Crores in the first week as there’s a weekend advantage for the film. Also, considering the festival factor(Pongal), darbar can run in theatre up to 2-3 weeks. Dhanush’s Pattaas will be releasing on 16th January which can slightly affect darbar’s collections.
Darbar got fewer numbers in areas like Salem, Thiruvananthapuram, Puducherry with less occupancy while in areas like Coimbatore, Vellore, Trichy, and Chennai, the film got huge numbers.
Darbar stars Rajinikanth, Nayanthara, Nivetha Thomas, and Sunil Shetty in lead roles. In this film, Rajinikanth will be playing a cop role named ‘Aadithya Arunachalam’. The film was written and directed by A.R.Murugadoss.
The music of the film got composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Santosh Sivan is the cinematographer and A. Sreekar Prasad edited this film. The film is certified with a U/A certificate with a runtime of 150 minutes.
