The American comedy-drama series Emily in Paris made its way to success in 2020 while plunging over controversies and criticism. The Golden Globe-nominated show had to face a lot of backlash given the stereotyped portrayal of the French and allegations of trying to influence the award jury members.
But regardless of all the criticism, there is no denying that the show was able to create a solid fan base. The fans rejoiced when the show’s renewal for a second season was announced on November 11, 2020.
Emily in Paris Season 2: Release Date
Due to the Covid Pandemic, the filming for the second season was postponed, which will resume only after May 3rd, 2021, as reported by Darren Star. If the pandemic doesn’t create any more troubles and the proposed plan is executed, the filming might be wrapped up by July 2021, after which the post-production will start. Calculating everything, we assume that the show might hit Netflix by early 2022.
Emily in Paris: Cast
The cast for Season 2 hasn’t been announced officially yet. Still, the tentative cast includes Lily Collins as Emily Cooper, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Sylvie Grateau, Ashley Park as Mindy Chen, Lucas Bravo as Gabriel, and Samuel Arnold Julian, Bruno Gouery as Luke, Camille Razat as Camille, and William Abadie as Antione Lambert.
What To Expect From Emily in Paris Season 2
The show’s creator admitted that he was not sure how he wanted the characters to evolve in the second season, but he wants Emily to have a firmer footing in the environment she was in.
She’ll be less naïve and have a better idea about life in Paris. Darren also plans to see more of other personalities, both at Parisian restaurants and the office. We’ll get to see more of Emily’s work family.
