Bill Burr Expresses Interest In Wanting To Return For The Mandalorian Season 3

The Mandalorian star Bill Burr would love to return for the Star Wars show’s third season, but can’t say if he’s involved.

Bill Burr first appeared in the first season of The Mandalorian portraying the character Mayfield. On the show, the character was the leader of a crew of mercenaries with whom The Mandalorian, Din Djarin, teamed up to earn a quick salary. Unfortunately, things went wrong and Bill Burr’s character was arrested by New Republic forces.

In the second season of the Star Wars show, Bill Burr played the role of Mayfield in which he helped Din locate the recently kidnapped Grogu on an Imperial base. Unfortunately, Mayfield runs into his old commander from his time in the Imperial Army who taunts Bill Burr’s character by recalling a story where they murdered thousands of civilians. In response, Mayfield snapped and shot his old commander, and the two had to fight their way out of the base. In exchange for his help, Mayfield is pronounced dead so he can go out and start a new life.

The Mandalorian was the first of the Disney Plus Star Wars shows and was the first original series to produce the new streaming platform. This year is the first where the show won’t release a new season Boba Fett’s book is released in its place. But this does not stop the actors of the series from wanting to return.

In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Bill Burr shared how much he loved being a part of The Mandalorian and how much he hoped he would be included in season three:

‘Oh, I hope so. Jon Favreau and Rick Famuyiwa, who wrote both of my episodes that I did – to be a small part of something so big that’s so good that it means so much to so many people. Of course I can’t say anything other than that I just really enjoy being on that show and I hope it continues and if it doesn’t I had a blast.”

“After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the rise of the First Order. We follow the journeys of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic….”

The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Giancarlo Esposito, Temuera Morrison, Katee Sackhoff, Ming-Na Wen, Bill Burr, Timothy Olyphant, and Carl Weathers, with Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano leading up to her spin-off series. The series was created by Jon Favreau and executive produced by Dave Filoni, with season two episodes also directed by Rick Famuyiwa, Bryce Dallas Howard, Peyton Reed, Carl Weathers and Robert Rodriguez.
