Koena Mitra has been born and grew up in the Eastern State, Kolkata. Mitra had begun a career in modeling when she was accumulating education in school. Throughout her career, the 35-year-old model turned actress has taken part in numerous beauty pageants. In addition to this, she has also done a handful of commercials.
Before Koena Mitra enter the B-Town or the Bollywood film industry, she first featured in some of the notable music videos such as Aaj Ki Raat, Ishq by Stereo Nation, Akh Teri and Jasbir Jassi’s Channo.
Koena Mitra’s journey in Bollywood
Mitra featured in a very special song of the movie “Road” which was made by none other than Ram Gopal Varma. However, Mitra gained prominence in the industry after she featured in the film Musafir with the song “O Saki.” By the looks of it, this was the first time that other leading Bollywood actresses were threatened by her.
Later Koena appeared in one of the notable songs Khullam Khulla. During the mid-2000s Mitra appeared in several regional films as well. She also acted in a few films such as Apna Sapna Money Money, Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena, Insan, and Anamika.
How did Koena Mitra’s career saw a downfall?
After the year 2010, Mitra was quite forgotten from the industry. Later, she had a nose job and this provided a horrific experience to her. Later, she had to sit at her home for around six months and later she began to accept her face.
In 2011, she left for Los Angeles and stayed there for almost 12 months. During her visit to LA, she got a role in “The Story of Naomi” Michael Hershel’s film. Her last film was the Bengali film, Besh Korechi Prem Korechi which released in the year 2015.
