Batla House Movie Review And Rating | John Abraham, Nikhil Advani

Batla House is based on real-life incidents. Moreover, the movie draws massive inspiration from the controversial encounter case of the same name. The film involves the intense and unreliable position that the police officers in India often find themselves, such as no hard evidence to pursue a case. The film shares a realistic approach where the cops cannot apprehend the wrongdoers.

The director of the film, Nikhil Advani, took a bold move by giving the role of ACP Sanjeev Kumar to John Abraham. Moreover, Abraham managed to convey the audience about the inner demons that ACP Kumar had while investigating the case. When the audience would see John Abharam in the lead role, they would know that the character was entirely custom-made for him.

Throughout the film, John Abraham portrays the role of an entirely stoic ACP who doesn’t speak a lot. On the other hand, John did not give intensified expressions while also responding to some of the dire life-death situations. A story also conveys how they can be casualties on both sides. One of the most controversial things that the novel successfully conveys is how the police were framed, which shook the nation to the core.

The story is about an honest officer who has betrayed the only thing that he swore to protect, the integrity of law and order. The decorated ACP walks on the path to redeem himself and clear his corrupt image across the country. The films also showcase the real-life footage from some of the notable politicians of the country such as L K Advani, Arvind Kejriwal, and Amar Singh who presented an insight into the covert operation.

Batla House Movie Review

The crime thriller movie is packed with several action sequences, such as chasing scenes. The director did a splendid job in executing the action sequence diligently. The only thing that was missing from the entire movie was the authentic police-criminal dialogues. Moreover, the film didn’t provide authentic Bollywood Tadka.

It looks like John Abraham has finally found the niche that he wants to pursue. There is a highly likely chance that the movie will be a nation-wide hit as John Abharam did deliver the patriotic sentiment which the people in the country want to see in films. Mrunal Thakur, on the other hand, portrays of the framed police officer’s wife who is a reputed journalist.

Thakur had a prominent acting gig as she had to take a neutral stand until the name of her husband, Sanjeev is cleared. By the looks of it, this is one of the most realistic approaches that the movie has done. Nora Fatehi and Ravi Kishan have minimal roles in the film, yet their performance is captivating.

Kishan portrays the character of K.K., a reporting officer who gets injured while Sanjeev was carrying out the investigation. Sanjeev gets inflicted with PTSD due to his brother in arms getting shot, and thus he blames himself for everything.

The film has the best background scoring and a typical Bollywood number of entertaining the audience. The run time of the film is just perfect. It is neither too long nor too short.

Rating: 3/5
