Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Sooryavanshi’: Is all set for OTT release date?

The recent COVID-19 pandemic hit has spared none. This same has impacted the entertainment industry as well. There are chances for a complete lockdown from April 15th, i.e., Thursday, in the Bollywood capital Mumbai. This news has further put the future of all the movies set to release in the coming days on big screens in the darkness. One such major impacted movie is Akshay Kumar’s starrer ‘Sooryavanshi.’

The movie was all set to hit the big screens on the coming 24th March only. But, the recent prevailing surge in COVID-19 cases, alongside lockdown and other factors, the release date was postponed. Thus, along with several other movies, Rohit Shetty’s directed ‘Sooryavanshi,’ which is his second movie in his Cop universe, is likewise considering a much safer option to release the film, i.e., OTT release.

‘Sooryavanshi’ movie: OTT or Theater?

According to the sources, nothing is specific as of now. But, one thing is for sure that there should be alternatives available. So, if the cinemas don’t open or the people didn’t show up in theaters due to the recent surge in coronavirus cases, it shouldn’t affect the movie’s future.

Furthermore, the alternatives could be SVOD that is a video on demand, or the TVOD/PPV that is pay per view. Thus, keeping a safer option is the demand of the time. Even the makers aren’t ready to postpone the release dates any further; if the prevailing conditions exist, they will opt for a digital platform to release the movie.

Akshay Kumar also affirmed that whether a digital or theatrical release is chosen for the movie, nothing will affect it. Anyhow, there isn’t any OTT release dates as of now ascertained.
