Telugu director Sukumar’s 2011’s successful love story 100% love is remade into Tamil as 100% Kadhal. The movie has popular music director turned actor G.V Prakash Kumar in the lead role and Shalini Pandey as the female lead. Directed by debutante M.M Chandramouli, 100% Kadhal is produced by Sukumar and Bhuvana Chandramouli.
100% Kadhal is about the story of Balu Mahendra who has always been a topper in school and college. Mahalakshmi who is from a village backdrop is his cousin, comes to stay with Balu and his family and joins the same college as Balu. The cat and mouse game between Balu and Mahalakshmi competing with each other at college and how they finally fall in love and get married forms the rest of the film.

G.V Prakash Kumar plays the role of Balu which was originally played by Naga Chaitanya. Shalini Pandey who shot to fame with Telugu hit film Arjun Reddy is playing the role of Mahalakshmi in the film. Tamannah who played the role in the original was first approached but she rejected the role. 100% Kadhal also stars Satish, Shivani, Rekha, Manobala, Thalaivasal Vijay and Senior actors Nasser and Jayachitra in supporting roles.
The music of the film is composed by G.V Prakash Kumar himself and the cinematography is done by Ganesh Rajavelu. The editing is handled by Mu. Kasi Viswanathan and the art department is headed by Thota Tarani.
Sukumar who directed the original came forward to produce the Tamil version in his production banner Creative Cinemas NY and coproduced by Bhuvana Chandramouli under the banner NJ Entertainment. Releasing in the festive season of Dushera, 100% Kadhal is expected to perform well at the box office as the movie already was successful back in Telugu.
100% Kadhal Movie Review
100% Kadhal is 100% entertainer. With a beautiful story by Sukumar in place, director M.M Chandramouli does a great job by recreating the magic. Both G.V. Prakash Kumar and Shalini Pandey give their best to their characters.
The college scenes in the first half and the romance between the two leads is the best part of the movie. Being a good story, the film never loses touch with the audience. Right till the end, you will be engaged to the film.
Not only as the male lead, but G.V Prakash Kumar also impreses us with his music. The original album was super hit in Telugu, and G.V. Prakash did a great job in Tamil. Ganesh Rajavelu’s visuals deserve a special mention.
Overall, the film is a great replica and it is expected to do well just like it’s original. Do check out this movie even if you have already watched the original, it still feels fresh and beautiful.
